There’s a reason we started Catalyst Nutrition and Training as a private dietitian practice here in Kingston, Pennsylvania, as opposed to working for a large healthcare network - actually many reasons!
From a dietitian’s perspective, working for a network does have its perks, from scheduling to billing and more. The problem is that networks aren’t always best for the people who matter - YOU, the patient!
So, we wanted to list some of the ways your health can benefit from visiting Catalyst Nutrition and Training, a proud private practice, when compared to a healthcare network.
If you have any questions along the way, don’t hesitate to reach out to us and ask!

Wider Availability
Dietitians working in networks may be overwhelmed with patients, and you could wait a long time for an appointment.
A small private practice like Catalyst tends to have wider scheduling availability and flexibility if you need to change appointments.
Time to Learn
That greater flexibility we just mentioned means we have more time to learn: about you and our own industry. The knowledge we pass along to you comes from our continuing education in nutrition science, whether that involves taking professional courses or reading up on new studies.
And why do we do it all? Because you aren’t just a number with us. Our smaller patient load means we get more time with each patient and you can get in to see us much faster than in a network.
Outside Referrals
A private practice like Catalyst can refer you to interdisciplinary teams outside of a set organization so you get the best possible specialty care.
We can send you to specialists in two separate health organizations or other private practices because we aren’t affiliated with any of them. That means you’ll see the providers you need the most instead of worrying about who belongs where.

No Agenda
As a privately owned dietitian practice, we want you to know we have no hidden agenda. We are here to provide the best nutrition care for you, period.
Continuity of Care
With a private practice, you’ll benefit from continuity of care with the same provider instead of being bounced around to different providers. We build trust and rapport with our patients and ultimately maintain strong relationships with them. That kind of experience makes things easier for you!
Unique Atmosphere
We understand that many of our patients don’t love going to the doctor, dentist, or any kind of medical setting. That’s why we designed our office space so it doesn’t look and feel like those kinds of places. We’ve food-themed our waiting room and consulting offices, we don’t wear scrubs, and you don’t deal with anyone else but us when you visit.
And we do it all to put you at ease!
Affordable Care Options
When you see providers in healthcare networks, you have to play by their rules for billing.
At Catalyst Nutrition and Training, we allow for much greater flexibility in our fee structure, such as payment plans, while providing basic affordable care options like accepting insurance.
In fact, being able to accept health insurance was one of the main reasons we opened Catalyst Nutrition and Training! From Aetna to Highmark to Medicare, we accept a variety of plans to make our care accessible to you.
InBody Scale
We’re proud to offer Catalyst patients access to the best-in-class InBody scale.
Not every dietitian’s office has one, even in large networks! But this tool is one of our most valued resources. By simply letting the machine read your body’s bioelectrical signals through your hands and feet, we can determine your muscle mass, fat, water retention, and more.
If getting on a scale isn’t for you, no worries! InBody scans are entirely your choice.
Direct and Open Communication
You know how it is in most medical offices: if you call them, you don’t get to speak to your provider directly. You might have to go through an automated system or someone else to communicate with them.
Here at our private practice, you can message your dietitian directly in our management system, Healthie. And the responses you get come directly from your dietitian!

Community Focus
We set up shop in Northeastern Pennsylvania and are proud members of our community. You can often find us out there at events getting to know our patients better! It could be a resource table at the YMCA or a talk up in Scranton.
You may never see this sort of thing from providers in large networks, mostly because they simply don’t have time.
We’re happy to get out there proactively and give back to our community by spreading the word about personalized nutrition to everyone!
Convenient Location
Catalyst Nutrition and Training is conveniently located at 480 Pierce St. Suite 201, Kingston, PA 18704. You don’t have to fight for a spot in a parkade or navigate the endless floors and hallways of a hospital.
Just pull into the New Bridge Center lot across from Arby’s in Kingston, park anywhere, and find us on the second floor!
Telehealth Option
As a private practice, we’re flexible in giving you the type of nutrition care you want. If you tell us telehealth is the way you prefer to meet with us, we’re right there with you! Or if something comes up and you need to make your scheduled in-person appointment a virtual meeting, just let us know!
